H-Hello there. My name's Fuuka Yamagishi. I've been asked to take charge of informing you of special target shadow that appear, using my Persona ability to track them. I-If you would like to put you or your team down to take one out, please note this account and you'll be assigned to take out the target. J-Just be sure to do so before the deadline, failure to do so will make claiming your reward impossible.

Also, should you fail to meet a deadline, you will be issued... The Mara Sticker...
The only way to be rid of the sticker is to sucesfully defeat another shadow hit of equal or greater value of stars
Speaking of the rewards: Please allow me to explain what happens when you defeat a special shadow here. Each shadow is ranked according to its strength by the number of stars

beneath it, these stars also reflect the minimum of pages your entry has to be. Those with 1 star can be a single page or a splash page.
Should you succeed in defeating the shadow before the deadline, you'll receive the number of wins equal to the number of stars. Not only that, you'll also receive a special shadow hit Medal as well

. You can accomplish the hit using any media (splash page, comic, flash etc).
Keep in mind, Shadow hits will almost always have requirements to meet that vary in both difficulty and number. If a Shadow has a requirement, you've got to meet it otherwise you'll fail the hit. This can range from minimum/ maximum pages to teams only. It all depends on the hit. The requirements will be located beneath the stars of the Shadow hit image.
Keep in mind that some targets reappear after a period of time, so if one person defeats it, another may also do so when it appears again another time.
Submitting a Shadow Hit Target
If you're not an official Shadow artist but would like to contribute a shadow design to be added to the Hit gallery, it must be approved by a moderator before being added to the list. We expect the art quality to be proportionate to the Shadow's difficulty level.

Use the deviation download above to set up your potential shadow hit.
As of April 6th, 2010, all Shadow hits require the following to be listed in the accompanying comments (NOT the image file):
A complete skill set. Ranks 1-8 are allowed up to 8 skills, and ranks 9-10 are allowed up to 10 skills. Rank 10 can make more than one action per turn
A list of its damage affinities. Ranks 1-4 must have at least one weakness. Ranks 7-10 must have no weaknesses. Ranks 3-10 must have Null/Repel Dark and Null/Repel Light.
A brief overview of its tactics. This could be simple as 'random,' or detailed turn-by-turn for a variety of situations.
Any of these factors may be edited by moderators so that they are appropriate to the Shadow Hit Ranking.
Nb: Shadows of 5 stars or lower do not speak coherently, but this is by no means a lack of intelligence on their part (though ranks 3 and below are often more animal in their intelligences, this isn't a set rule). Ranks 6 and above can speak coherently, and almost always have intellects as high as any human's, if not higher.
Requesting a Shadow Hit
Simply note ~
Persona-DA with the subject of "Shadow Hit Request" (or similar), and
include a link and the name of the shadow and character who will be doing the hit. You will be sent a reply with the due date of the hit.
Shadow Hit Duels
You can choose to make a challenge out of a shadow hit. Two Persona users can now go head to head to be the first defeat the shadow hit. The winner must be the one who lands the killing blow on the shadow. To make a shadow hit duel, simply note the account with the thumbnail of the shadow you wish to fight, both characters and specify that it is a shadow hit duel. You must follow any of the conditions the shadow hit may have.
Shadow Hit Ranks
WARNING WARNING, THE BELOW INFORMATION IS NEW, AND CURRENT OUTSTANDING SHADOWS MAY NOT REFLECT THIS INFORMATIONNb: For anyone use to the old shadow levels, you'll need to read though the listing carefully, as quite a lot has changed regarding the spread of levels and how they compare to monsters in the games. While rank 10 is the highest rank in the new regular listing, in the persona series, those shadows are comparable to the likes of Ameno-Sagiri, the Nyx Avatar and Erebus. Rank 8-9 shadows are comparable to the late tartarus bosses or the Hanged Man shadow, and so forth down the line to Rank 1 shadows being comparable to the first shadows faced.
The old shadow levels are listed below for convenience but will be eventually cycled out, as shadow hits are adapted to the newer system.

(collab/teams only, 4 weeks) - Oh HO! Watch out! These guys can cast skills insanely fast, dropping multiple actions as quickly as it takes you to use even one skill and if that wasn't bad enough, they're at least as powerful as anything you've ever faced! As a result, you should never face those guys alone, bring a whole group to the party, and be prepared for a gruelling slugfest, because these shadows won't let up either. Good luck!
9

(4 weeks) - Welcome to the big leagues, fellas! Those powerful shadows have access to more attacks than you ever believed possible, and the will to use them. Combined with their already powerful moves, this is a match made in heaven for them, and hell for you!
8

(4 weeks) The upper echelons of the shadow ranks start here. Keep in mind everything you've learned before, walk softy, carry a big gun, and an even bigger persona. You're going to need it.
7

(3 weeks) - Jeez! This is where the shadows hit their most dangerous, these shadows have absolutely no weaknesses! Stay prepared, have a balanced party, and be ready for anything. One false move could mean the end for you!
6

(3 weeks) - Ho boy, keep on your guard for these guys, they might be able to take you out in one blow if they hit the right weakness. From here on out, I suggest taking a buddy with you, especially if the shadow is of higher level than you!
5

(2 + 1/2 weeks) - Oh me, oh my, after this point, shadows can all talk like a man, but they sure don't walk like one. Be prepared and don't give into their tricks, it's still a shadow, and you're well versed in fighting those by now.
4

(2 weeks) - These buggers hit HARD! Be sure to keep proper caution, you never know what they may have up their sleeve.
3

(1 + 1/2 weeks) - Watch your back, after this point, shadows are immune to all light and dark spells, and some can even bounce them right back at you. The key here is to be cautious, find out what you can about it's bag of tricks, and then get stuck in!
2

(1 + 1/2 weeks) - Bit stronger now, but remember that shadows of this level always have weaknesses. Find it and exploit it!
1

(1 week) - Fairly weak and easy to beat, but a threat to ye of little inexperience.
Be warned though, these shadows are only those known to appear on a regular basis, and far stronger, more unique shadows are known to exist. Be warned, those shadows warrant action beyond anything you have seen before, and have the power to back it up.
Information on any such monsters will be given out should one ever raise it's ugly head!
OLDER SHADOW HITS RANKING INFORMATION 5

(2 + 1/2 weeks) - Hits hard, but can defeated with proper caution. E.g., Hanged Man shadow, late Tartarus bosses.

3:

- (1 + 1/2 weeks)
2

- (1 + 1/2 weeks) Find it's weakness and keep hitting it.
1

- (1 week) Couple hits and it's down.
FYI: Shadows of 4 stars or lower do not speak coherently, but this is by no means a lack of intelligence on their part. 5 and above can speak coherently.
